Preparation for kudumulu or undrallu

  • Wash and soak chana dal for 10-15 mins. If you are using coconut, chop them into small chunks and keep aside. I love to add coconut in kudumulu which gives a nice taste and chunky texture.
  • In a thick bottomed vessel, take 2 cups of water. Add salt.
    Kudumulu
  • Drain off the chana dal and add them to water along with coconut pieces and bring them to boil.
    Kudumulu
  • Now add the rice rava by stirring continuously without any lumps.
    Kudumulu
  • Cover and cook them on a low flame for 5 mins.
    Kudumulu
  • When the rava is cooked nicely, remove the lid and let it cool down. If you want to do quickly, transfer the mixture to a wide pan or plate and spread it.
