Egg Fry | Kodi Guddu Vepudu

Egg Fry or Kodi Guddu Vepudu is my goto side dish when we are having rice/dal. I have learnt this egg fry recipe from my mother-in-law.This egg fry dish compliments Rice & Dal combination very nicely. It is also very easy to cook and hardly takes 15mins to cook. Usually we see various types of egg fries where boiled eggs are fried  with chilli powder or pepper powder or ginger garlic paste. Our egg fry recipe is little different with unique taste.

  • 4 Boiled Eggs
  • 1 tsp Musturd Seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil


  • Boil the eggs in a vessel for 10mins or till we get cracks on the shell. Remove the shell, cut the eggs to two halfs and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan, add musturd seeds, cumin seeds and urad dal. 
  • When urad dal turns golden, add turmeric, salt, coriander powder and chilli powder.
  • Keep stirring and fry on a low flame till nice aroma, do not burn the masala.

  • Now place the eggs one by one to coat the masala on each egg and fry for few minutes.
  • Flip the eggs carefully and mix it to coat the masala on the other side of the eggs and fry for few more minutes.
  • Serve hot with white rice.
